On September 14, 2010, BLJC hosted our 10th annual BLJC Charity Golf Classic in support of SickKids Foundation and The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. We raised a record $60,000 which will be shared by these two Foundations to fund life-saving cancer research. The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is the largest paediatric academic health sciences centre in Canada. SickKids is now a place where patient care, research and education—their three cornerstones—play equal roles in improving the health of children. In the ten years that the tournament has been running, with the help of our many suppliers and colleagues, we have raised over $500,000 for cancer research at The Princess Margaret and The Hospital for Sick Children. Again this year, our tournament was held at Wooden Sticks golf course in Uxbridge and was another great event, with a record sell-out in only TWO weeks! With sunny skies and warm temperatures, 144 golfers enjoyed the beauty of this inspiring golf course replicating holes from famous courses around the world. An enjoyable day of golf was followed by cocktails, dinner and a silent auction. Congratulations to the winning foursome from Sweeny, Sterling, Finlayson & Co.
