12/13/2010 | BLJC named sustainability Trailblazer
Chief strategist for sustainable transformation at Creative Transition Resources (CTR) Inc. Yasmin Glanville is celebrating BLJC’s leadership in sustainability in her new Trailblazer Report.
The Trailblazer Report celebrates individuals and organizations that prioritize sustainability, energy and value building.
“BLJC is proving themselves to be a leader in terms of real estate and facility management,” Glanville says.
The real-estate sector is going through a lot of transformation because of economic, environmental, social and regulatory factors, Glanville says.
She says one of the reasons BLJC maintains its leadership position in real-estate sustainability is due to the organization’s disciplined approach.
“They hire experts with proven track records, which means they go into the game with a proven formula, the right people, the right technology and the right practices,” says Glanville.
“And they’re also constantly evaluating the performance of what they’re doing and make course corrections along the way. They’re very responsive.”
Glanville says she has a history developing educational programs with BLJC that focus on sustainability, energy and motivating and engaging employees and clients to save energy.
“I got to understand some of the leaders in the company and gained an appreciation for their ethics and expertise,” she says.
Glanville says that businesses have a responsibility to prioritize sustainability.
“If you’re taking from society, you also have to give back,” she says.
For a company to evolve in a healthy way and sustain value for their shareholders and stakeholders, they need to do it in a way that’s sustainable and respectful, without depleting what’s available, says Glanville.
The Trailblazer name was trademarked in 2004, and CRT Inc. has since produced a series of communiqués including summits, round-tables and videos featuring individuals and organization who have proven track records in blazing a new trail in their domain, says Glanville.
The Trailblazer Report was just launched in this fiscal quarter, and is scheduled to become a regularly published magazine focused on expert information on sustainability, energy and value building.
