2/4/2011 | BLJC Orange partnership provides established brand as trusted adviser

BLJC announced a strategic alliance with Orange National Group to better address the retail tenant marketplace at the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) trade show in British Columbia.

The alliance creates Canada’s only full lifecycle retail real-estate solutions firm dedicated solely to tenants.

Vice president of business innovation and strategic sourcing for BLJC Mike Greidanus says offering complete services through the entire retail real-estate lifecycle gives BLJC a great advantage.

The alliance will address the client business needs without the traditional inherent conflicts of interest.

Orange brings strategic planning to address the core business needs of clients, like location, positioning against competitors and lease support.
“That’s part of the lifecycle we’d not been a part of in the past,” says Greidanus.

Orange’s specialization and history bring BLJC immediate credibility in these fields.

“Orange is an established brand in being a trusted adviser for retailers’ real-estate strategy. So their brand and the equity they’ve built in the marketplace helps our business in getting to know the clients better and bringing them another solution,” says Greidanus.

“We’re there at the formation of the client’s strategy on their retail location and that helps us serve them better in maintaining that location for the long term,” he adds.

Orange is a “boutique consulting firm,” specializing in the niche market of tenant representative strategy and transactions.

“They’re very specialized in dealing with high-end strategy. There aren’t many people in Canada who do that, and do that well,” says Greidanus.

“What’s good about that particular boutique offering, is it’s an exact fit with our offering with tenant-representatives only real-estate services and facilities management,” he adds.

President of the Prairies Division for Orange and partner for National Orange Grant Kosowan is excited to expand Orange’s involvement in the retail real-estate lifecycle.

“That’s an exciting prospect in being able to give a full lifecycle of services as opposed to starting and jumping in and out through the process. Now we can stay involved,” says Kosowan.

“Our clients are all excited to look at the new broader scope of services that are now going to be made available to them,” he adds.
